This song has made me cry. It's one of my favorites, right up there with "Hallelujah." And I have apparently decided that I want to spread music. So...another song! Have it!
I promise. But I have failed pretty hard at the internet as of late, because I've consumed by other, writing-type things.
Mostly: I'm not dead. But also - this song.
I think this song is absolutely gorgeous. I was introduced to it via this blog post regarding Samael over on Fruit of Pain, a blog by the lovely Anya Kless whom I've been blessed to work with, albeit one and briefly. That said...that is the context in which I find this song to be so beautiful and mesmerizing, among other things. Even strictly in a musical context I think it's wonderful.

My friend isn't a Misha girl, but thinks it's the best battle cry there is. She has requested to hear/see it at least twice now.
In all seriousness...yes, despite last night's drunken tumblr post, I actually have a serious commentary to make on the way things went down today. It's only my second convention, but I definitely know why people go to them again and again - they're fun, a good place to allow your silly, nerdy self to be free and feel no shame, you get a chance to interact with the actors...in theory it's great.
( And then people get stupid. )

Yesterday I did some character sketches (!!), something I feel as though I haven't done in a long time, and I'm pretty happy with how they turned out (though of course the scanner doesn't love me or my drawings, but oh well)...
These correspond to a story I am in the process of building. I'm in the early stages of constructing the lore and mythology of the world this story will take place in. My primary objective: create the gods.

ALSO. Walking on Broken Glass. I love it. And I love their tumblr and I totally asked Travis a question cause I have a HUGE crush on him and his awesome mohawk, and I am having some serious fangirling over it. ^.^

I got an interview with Jamba Juice this Saturday! \o/ w00t!!
Think good thoughts for me and my future with the Jamba? I would very much like to work there, where people randomly burst into song while making smoothies. ^.^

That, though the truth can hurt, lies usually hurt more.

I just rediscovered how awesome my mom is. You see, I decided a while back that I just had to watch Stonehenge Apocalypse regardless of how awful it was obviously going to be - I mean, Misha Collins. C'mon. But my mom watched it before I did and she decided to send me an email informing me as to how she rated the movie - she thought it was fucking awesome. She has a rather peculiar fondness for bad made for TV sci-fi movies, and she thought this one (not quite made for TV - I think straight to video) was the best:
( How many stars did she give it? Five. She gave it five whole stars. )
After I watched the movie I looked at her and said "Scientific data?" She laughed. I love my mother.
I also love Misha Collins, and this movie was rather entertaining. A good movie to Mystery Science Theater. My dad was very amused by the fact that, when he started watching it I was sleeping soundly upstairs, but the moment Misha started talking they heard me roll out of bed and I was promptly ambling half asleep down the stairs. He looked at me and was like "Really? Really?" Yes, really. Misha fucking Collins.
Also Harry Potter. Don't ask how Harry Potter became a part of this, because I don't really remember. I think it had something to do with the skull hovering in the air over Stonehenge on the movie's cover, but it evolved into something way bigger in the course of the movie.

I'm really not broken up about losing my job in the least - I realized just now that, though that panic of "I'm unemployed" has been squatting on the horizon, I feel so much better knowing that I never have to go back there and deal with that horrible manager. And I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get an interview at Jamba Juice (good thoughts for the future of me and Jamba Juice? :). In any case, I've had a lot of free time. I've been filling my free time with being productive - weeding the garden (a lot), pulling out (a lot of very angry) black berry bushes, writing, typing up writing (since I've taken to writing a first draft of nearly everything by hand), and editing. Lots and lots of editing - primarily for my friend Dana, who's on version 3.0 of her novel (first of a trilogy). This is the second draft that's passed through my hands, so...editing. I'm actually growing to like it (not to mention the editing inherent in typing up hand-written drafts [that was the point to begin with - it's working, and training me to not despite editing so much]). Oh, and also reading. I have half a library of books I need to work through. Two down. Lots to go.</p>
Today was my lazy day. Today was my "I'm gonna movie" day. So I finished The Millennium Trilogy (if you don't know what that is, you should) - movie, not books. Then I went to the movie theater by my self for the first time ever. I got pizza and snuck in my left over bread sticks. And you know...I was kind of surprised that Cowboys and Aliens was neither amazingly awesome or amazingly terrible. It was totally decent entertainment wise. It was a good top to my movie day.
Also, on the way home I stopped at Borders (mournfully) and picked up The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - book.
All in all, good day methinks.
